Fortunate’s Success Story” How speech therapy has helped her regain her voice

In the heart of Masindi, Uganda, a beacon of hope shines bright for children with Down Syndrome. At Rowan’s Down Syndrome Awareness Centre, we’ve witnessed countless success stories, but none quite as remarkable as Wembabzi Fortunate’s journey.

Born with Down Syndrome, Wembabzi faced numerous challenges in her early years, particularly in communication. However, her story took a remarkable turn when she began attending speech therapy sessions at Masindi Main Hospital, facilitated by Rowan’s Down Syndrome Awareness Centre.

Through consistent and dedicated efforts, Wembabzi has made astonishing progress in her speech and communication skills. From struggling to form basic sounds to confidently expressing herself, her transformation is nothing short of extraordinary. Each session has been a stepping stone towards her independence and self-confidence.

However, the road to success hasn’t been easy. Providing quality speech therapy comes with a cost, and at Rowan’s, we’re committed to ensuring every child receives the support they need. Unfortunately, the expenses add up, making it challenging for us to bear the burden alone.

This is where we need your help. Your generous donations can make a world of difference in the lives of children like Wembabzi. With just 150,000/- per child per session, we can continue to provide vital speech therapy services and empower more children to reach their full potential.

You can contribute to our cause through MoMoPay by dialing *165*3# and entering the code 612727 or by visiting our GoFundMe page at https://gofund.me/3437fce6. Every donation, no matter how big or small, will directly impact the lives of children with Down Syndrome and help them thrive.

Join us in celebrating Wembabzi’s success and ensuring that every child has the opportunity to shine bright. Together, we can make a difference and build a more inclusive and supportive community for all. Thank you for your generosity and support.
